Ah!!! This may not make any sense if I unload all the thoughts in my head so this will be short, to prevent anyone from getting sucked into the million and three things bouncing around!!
We saw our little gummy bear today!!! Albeit a bit melted looking gummy bear, but OUR gummy bear!!! AND for the added bonus we were lucky enough to hear the heartbeat 100bpm!! Dr. said a day earlier and it probably wouldn't have even been detected yet!!!
this was the story of a girl, who loves pink, and her guy, who went Navy...before she learned how to adjust her own sails

Joust a plaisance!!
We have attempted many times to go to Medieval Times in Texas and in Florida and it just hasn't ever worked in our favor. Not only did we finally get the chance, we got it all free. Here in the military community we have this a thing called the MWR, Morale, Welfare and Recreation. It's mission is to keep military members and/or their families connected by means of just what is says, morale, welfare and recreation. They host events, they give away tickets, they plan just about everything and anything you can think of and have rentals for camping, boating etc. I could go on all day, but you get the point. Anyway, we noticed on Facebook that our MWR was giving away VIP ticket packages, first come first serve. You had better believe I told H to go, go, go!!! He obviously wasn't the only one sent on this mission, when he got to the counter he was greeted with, "let me guess, your wife sent you?" what, are we the only ones on Facebook? Don't answer that...
So off we went to my first theatrical jousting tournament!! H has been before and has since been trying to take me (as previously stated). Let me just say that it was amazing, yummy food, good drinks, yes even the non-alcoholic ones, and how cool was the decor. Maybe I should mention this was all still during the cocktail hour, we hadn't even gone into the arena. Yep, sometimes I am just easily impressed, but no this place was awesome.
Once again I expressed how since this was the first, blah, blah, Medieval Times, blah, blah, maybe we should get the baby something from here, blah, blah... Okay that probably IS how it sounded to H who at this point is thinking "wow this kiddo is going to have so much "momentous" crap before they are ever born..." I realized that buying the cute princess hat could possibly end up royally pissing off our son and cause him to think I didn't care about him...alright no buying of "stuff" until perhaps we know if it is a girl or a boy...but what about a cute stuffed dragon?? No? Alright...
Oh the drama begins!!! We get into the arena and I'm kinda still in awe, we are seated and I see the menu. Uh I'm starving and it's chicken, ON A BONE?? Wait it's a HALF a chicken??? Ew...I don't eat meat off the bone. Unless it is from a famous bar in Oklahoma. Yes because THOSE chickens are SOOOO different. H doesn't either so I'm now concered, he tells me "oh and you eat it with your hands" uh gross...*eyeroll* as if I don't eat that famous bar chicken with my hands. He assures me that there is white meat in it and we'll be okay, just go with it. Okay I can do that, but we may be stopping on the way home. He laughs and agrees.
The horses were some of the most amazing breeds I have ever seen and I long forgot that I was eating chicken off a bone like a wild buzzard. The equestrian skills also amazed me, I was impressed with the show, that is an understatement, I was very impressed! It was a new show that no one had seen before so I wish them well and hope that we can see it again in a future adventure wherever that may be.
Oh, and our Knight, the Green Knight won... ♥ g

Do I Have Any Veins Left?
A good phlebotomist, ah hem like myself back in the day, should always ask a person which arm they would prefer to have blood drawn from. After all the "donor" usually knows which arm (or area) is a better stick. However, there are always exceptions right?? Like say the "donor" almost looks like a drug user (can't insert which type of drug user, because I am drug stupid and have no idea what drugs are injected) and has obvious holes still in various stages of healing, wouldn't you think to look at the other arm??? No? Okay so it was just me? Anyway after a brief explanation word hints of fertility treatment, pregnant, several draws I finally suggested that perhaps we should look at the other arm, it hadn't been poked in over a week. I guess that wasn't bright of me to make any suggestions, that was the worst stick I have ever had. BUT it was worth it because that sample showed us just what we hoped for, still elevated levels and a healthy pregnancy!!! Next up a series of ultrasounds. And possibly more blood work, I only assuming anyway, I mean why not?? ♥ g

"If they can dye the river green today, why can't they dye it blue the other 364 days of the year?"
If you know the movie that the quote is from then you probably can guess where we were today. Yup, in Chicago for my favorite holiday St. Patty's Day!!! What I a fun day! Perfect weather and well it's our first outing adventure since we found out "we" is being added to! It's funny how I think of that now. I'll make sure he or she knows all the little adventures we went on while they were in utero! Because what kid doesn't want to hear about fun things they have no way of remembering?? We got to watch the river be dyed green and had a yummy lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, I had a Shirley Temple and H had green beer, what else? We kinda missed the parade, if you have ever been it's insane and there is A LOT of walking involved. I wasn't disappointed, I really just want to be there and see the river green. Mission accomplished. ♥ g

Blood Suckers
I have been poked and prodded that almost nothing bothers me. Especially giving blood, in any amount, which over the process of getting pregnant there have been A LOT of "samples." I lost count for myself, H is up to a whopping ONE. We were told Wednesday that I would need to come in every few days for a while to see if the hormone levels (I won't bore you with which ones) are rising nicely, to indicate a healthy pregnancy. So here's to adding more holes to my arms and finding out that we do indeed have a healthy pregnancy so far!! More blood sucking I mean work on Monday!

Oh My!
So I haven't been very good about keeping this updated. School was kind of a pill this semester, but what else should I have expected for an 8-week semester!? It's over and before I start the next 8-week semester I MUST update...
Cycle 1 went, and by that I mean the Clomid didn't work and the cycle was a complete dud.
Cycle 2 started later due to holiday travel and we added an hCG injection (known as a trigger shot) and an extra ultrasound to see if we were moving along as planned, opposed to waiting till the end of a cycle to find out what happened, if anything. Clomid worked, we had one perfect follicle, the hCG injection worked but we just didn't get pregnant, my progesterone was pretty low, so we started a supplement of that as well.
Cycle 3 started with the Letrozole in place of Clomid, and I had very very few side effects. No moodiness just joint pain, which was on the side effects list. I was pretty sure it didn't work because I was so use to the insanity Clomid brought with it. Headed to our 2nd ultrasound and we had 3 follicles! I was surprised! Dr had us wait a day to do the hCG injection. Then I got sick with a cold, I was pretty upset, I held off on taking any medicine and managed through it. Dr. had me start the progesterone much earlier this time. That has some fun side effects. I was pretty convinced that I was getting all the side effects from the progesterone, then I got my results back and it was good and high so yup everything was due to the progesterone. About a week later I had my pregnancy test, which was also scheduled on my birthday. H wasn't so sure this was a good idea, but I was thinking that "hey worst case, it's the all about me day so it'll be okay"...Happy Birthday to me my bloodwork came back positive!! Yep I'm pregnant!! Friday I go in to have my hCG levels checked again to make sure they are increasing as they should be!

2012
Oh my 2011 is over! What a year! H went to boot camp, started his Navy training and I moved from the Dallas area to the Chicago area to be with him. What a HUGE change!! I realized just how southern I am and I fully embrace that, I even quit trying so hard to cover up my southern accent that comes out! Northerners are not my favorite, without getting worked up about what awful drivers they are and how rude they can be, I'll just leave it at that.
With a new year in and an old year out the door, why not make amends and rebuild some bridges while we are at it. I learned the art of "not caring" from my dear husband, he will tell you it only took him 10 years to get me there, but I'm going to take it one step more, I'm going to make better choices about what not to care about and what to just speak my mind about, I hold too much in that would be healthier to just get out. I am who I am, and the older I get the more I realize how terribly exhausting it is to try to please everyone, these days at best anyone really. Hold what is dear and important to you close to your heart and head, be smart and be aware of unintentionally hurting people that DO matter. Go for what you want, and don't let anyone or anything hold you back. Be the controller of your happiness. When you get knocked down, get back up. That's how I plan to take on 2012. Such a nice plan, however I'm not always an optimist, I'm sometimes a pessimist, but most of the time I'm a realist, and I know that there will be times that I will want to cry and times that I will. I have to just remember to keep going.
You may wonder what exactly am I expecting in 2012 to need such a good plan. Well it's because January marks our 2nd cycle of trying for a baby...again. In August we started seeing a fertility specialist and after months of testing and diagnostic procedures I was prescribed 100mg Clomid, for 5 days in November. Blood test showed I did not ovulate at all, prompting our Dr to add Provera to the plan. Christmas break out of state prevented us from being able to start another cycle right away so today is day one of ten on the Provera. I found myself frustrated to tears today over having to take so many drugs in attempt to get my body to do what is normal and so easy for so many other women. It's a dangerous place to be for hubby, living with a woman full of hormonal drugs. I feel for him, I really do between my moments of crying for unknown reasons or being raging mad about yet another newlywed teenager getting pregnant around here, I really do feel bad for him. But he has been my rock, reminding me today that yes it all sucks, and yes it is really unfair at times, and yes I'm going to need these drugs if we want to try, but at least we are getting the chance to try. Thank goodness one of us is of sound mind through this...I have an amazing husband, I know this
